HENRY2 STANTON (George1), was born May 17, 1699 at Liverpool, England. He married, October 18, 1732, MARIA WARNER (or possibly MARY BLANCK, born December 1, 1705, died September 7, 1792, according to Augustus C. Stanton).

Henry Stanton is mentioned in the will of Joseph Ellison of New York, mariner, dated December 15, 1732. He left to Henry Stanton and John Vezier, each, a gold ring valued at 18 schillings.

On September 19, 1736, Henry Stanton was a witness to the baptism at the Reformed Dutch Church at the City of New York of Cornelis Blanck, son of Casparus and Marritje (Andriesse) Blanck.

On January 21, 1737/8, Henry Stanton and Casparus Blanck were listed as members of a Foot Company of Militia under the command of Captain Joseph Robinson at New York.

Henry Stanton was called a "cooper" in the will of Henry Davis, his cousin, dated February 16, 1744. A cooper was a person who made or repaired barrels and casks.

On January 19, 1748, Edward Trelawny, Governor of Jamaica, apointed Henry Stanton "guardian to the persons and estates" in Jamaica of his, Henry Stanton's, own children.

Henry Stanton, mariner, was made a registered "freeman" at New York on August 29, 1749.

A petition to the Chancery Court, dated November 27, 1749, by Henry Stanton, of New York City, mariner, stated that his cousin, Henry Davis, of the Island of Jamaica had made bequests to his, the petitioner's, minor children. The children were listed with their approximate ages. He asked leave, as guardian of his children, to sell a Negro to Gabriel Ludlow, a merchant of New York City, for £57.

On February 5, 1758, Henry Stanton named his son Richard as his attorney for the Jamaican property inherited from Margaret Davis, the wife of Henry Davis.
