While he wore a uniform, he was not considered a "soldier" and had no command authority. Nevertheless, he was at the front at Verdun and at River Saone in France after which he was decorated with the Knight of the White Falcon medal and the title of Royal Dentist (dentist at the court). The Mietling family lived in a large house on the corner of Weimarischestrasse and Pomenadenstrasse in Apolda. In 1932 he and his family moved from Apolda to Dresden. He died on 19 Dec 1950 in Dresden, Germany.

	28	M	iii	Klaus Friedrich Otto Mietling was born on 25 Mar 1918 in Apolda, Thuringia, Germany. In high school, Klaus did a lot of traveling by fold boat with his older brother Wolfgang. Klaus joined the German Navy when he was 18 in 1936. At that time in order to become an officer, German soldiers had to prove at least three generations of their ancestors were Arian, so Klaus did considerable genealogical research on the Mietling and Schilling families. He eventually became a lieutenant in the Luftwaffe but died in on 27 Sep 1940 while on a flight over England.

14. Franz August Schilling (Franz Friedrich August , Heinrich Konrad , Christoph Adam ) was born on 2 Feb 1897 in Apolda, Thuringia, Germany. He died on 16 Oct 1977 in Apolda.
